Why Schools

Schools are ideal for spreading agricultural innovations and equipping students with essential skills. They serve as community hubs where trained teachers enhance education quality through hands-on, project based learning both in classrooms and on family farms.

This approach engages parents, reduces dropout rates, especially among girls, and shifts students’ views of agriculture as a viable career option. By empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to generate their own incomes through farming, youth can earn income and further invest in their education.

Schools act as knowledge centers for entire communities. With school gardens providing revenue, the program becomes self-sustaining and less dependent on external funding. Schools also offer scalability and coordination. Integrating the SBAE approach into the national curriculum ensures these advancements reach all regions efficiently.
